Minety Parish Council

Notice of meeting and summons to attend. Public and Press are welcome to attend.

In accordance with Schedule 12, para 10 (2) of the Local Government Act 1972 notice is hereby given that a Meeting of Minety Parish Council will be held on 11th March, 2025, commencing at 7.30pm, at Minety Village Hall, Hornbury Hill, Minety, SN16 9QH.

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME. Strictly no alcohol is permitted in the meeting room. An opportunity for members of the public to address the Parish Council on any council matter before the formal meeting commences. (Limited to 5 minutes, except by previous arrangement.) Every effort will be made to give accurate answers to all questions, but in some cases further research may be necessary and an answer will be given by the chairman as soon as possible.

6. Councillor Vacancy- we have two vacancies.

Councillor Kilroy was elected unanimously as the new chair Cllr Crompton will be taking a short break from duties for the next few months.

h. Cllr Andrews Speeding Agreed that we will look into the costs of a new speed camera to capture vehicles coming into the village. There have been a number of accidents in the village on the B4040 lately. Appeal to see if any pairshoners are interested in setting up a speed watch committee. Clerk to contact police to see if they can add Minety to the list for mobile speed units.

9.Special projects

a. Permanent Parish Council Post Box – it has been agreed by the Minety Hall committee that we can install a post box on the wall adjacent to the notice board, the hall committee have offered to install it free of charge costs between £50 and £75 to purchase a post box. Proposed by Sarah Crompton, seconded by Janet Andres and unanimously agreed to set a budget up to £150 for the new post box.

10.Finance

3. Issues to address.

* The recent increase in the clerk’s hourly rate as per Scale 21 from £16.02 to £16.65 per hour referring to the October 2024 agreement reached between Local Government Association and the NJC. There is a back pay element of £40.95 which covers start date mid November 2024 to January 2025 pay days. New salary amount reflects proposed by S Crompton, seconded by Cllr Kilroy and unanimously agreed
